One more mobile app discovery tool will soon hit the market. Xyologic aims to let people find what they're looking for more easily, but the tool focuses on games. The company's closed beta test will sift through the more than 493,000 apps in the Google Play store. For the past two years, company engineers have been testing how users search for apps, the queries they type and the kind of behavior they exhibit when on the hunt.

The Internet Retailer conducted a survey that found 50.8% of respondents said they will not increase the amount they spend on cost per clicks this year, and 49.2% will increase that spending. Last year, only 6.4% of respondents reported paying on average 5 cents or less per click, but this year the largest group -- 17.6% -- will spend between 26 cents and 40 cents. The study highlights a variety of factors that influence the budget amount that marketers will spend on paid search.

Google has set up five basic steps to optimizing mobile-only campaigns. Katie Kellogg explains each, from creating easy to reach text used for copy in ads, to optimizing keywords that quickly identify the topic. For example, Kellogg tells us to add existing keywords from a desktop campaign to mobile and after three to four weeks analyze click-through and conversion rate. It will make sense to pause keywords if they have low CTRs or zero conversions. Then it's time to experiment with new words. Rovi has entered into a license agreement with Google that supports Fiber Pay-TV service in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. Google will license the company's patent portfolio under a multi-year agreement. Google claims its new high-speed Internet and TV service will deliver speeds roughly 100 times faster than most U.S. homes receive on standard broadband.
