    YouTube uses various "black box" metrics to establish ranking and authority of videos and channels. Manny Rivas recommends a specific strategy, which he outlines, to build YouTube profiles that can gain higher video rankings. Rivas explains that YouTube considers the number of times a video is embedded when ranking it in the SERPs. Each post the video is embedded on is optimized, too, and can rank alongside the video. He writes that linking into other sites and videos can help build authority, along with driving fans from Twitter, Facebook and other social sites to videos hosted on YouTube.

Aun explains that SpotMixer won't charge for using the video platform on AdWords, but those who want the One True Media company to add a professional voiceover could find themselves dishing out $50 and up. Other companies offering similar self-serve video platforms include Jivox and FourSpots, he writes.

    Ann Smarty looks at "one tiny, yet very important aspect" of keyword research and reviews a tool called Onelook aimed at making the process easier. The tool can help marketers find new possible keyword phrases and extensions. These words used together with the core term can help marketers build out long-tail campaigns. Smarty defines "keyword research," as the process of "finding possible keyword phrases, synonyms and related terms, estimating the keyword difficulty and potential" and researching competitors' tactics for keyword selection.
