Later this month, Google begin rolling out three new columns in AdWords Display reporting to give advertisers who use Lightbox ads an easier way to view specific metrics such as engagements, engagement rate, and average CPE. These new columns will help advertisers easily differentiate engagement metrics when someone expands the Lightbox ad or clicks on the Lightbox ad when it expands.
Bing
Microsoft Monday said it would redesign the next version of Bing Maps to offer enhanced content and design. Available today in a preview mode, the platform now lets users search, view and share multiple places at one time, see reviews and photos from partners such as Yelp, and gain access to visuals and information on the places travelers plan to visit.

Buy buttons became the buzz of today's ecommerce platforms after Google announced it would add the one-click purchase platform to YouTube and then Shopping. Sucharita Mulpuru provides a rundown of strategies from companies like Google, Instagram, Pinterest and others. She says that one company missing from the discussion, Amazon, offers a voice-activated buy button. While the energy continues to increase around the possibilities, Mulpuru doesn't see a big shift anytime soon as to how consumers will buy. Here's why.
MIT Technology Review
Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and the International Computer Science Institute built a tool called AdFisher to probe Google's ad targeting practices served on third party Web sites. The results found that fake Web users believed by Google to be male job seekers were much more likely than equivalent female job seekers to be shown ads for high paying executive jobs when they later visited a news Web site.

WordStream will expand its reach from paid search into tools that drive better leads through a partnership with Constant Contact, which focuses on email marketing. The companies said the partnership will drive customer leads through paid search, keep leads and customers engaged via email marketing, and provide an integrated experience that will save small businesses time.

Mozilla is allowing developers to use a test version of its Firefox browser with virtual-reality technology that could make searching the Web more like watching movies or playing video games, explains USA Today. With this technology, Firefox users may soon be able to create a customized, fully-interactive online experience using VR devices such as Facebook's Oculus Rift.

Google is working with Toyota through its feature Google Places to run the banner ad campaign "Let’s Go Places," which suggests local activities like visiting museums and local eateries to consumers on desktop and mobile. To make the ads, Toyota and Google Places created a new API to pull location-specific data from over 15,000 U.S. cities to offer unique calls-to-action in the ads. Emily Alfred explains.

iProspect announced Wednesday a tailored version of the Squared Online digital marketing program, developed with Google and powered by Home Learning College, as part of a global talent initiative it calls NEXTGEN. The focus on learning and development aims to train the next generation of digital talent. The initial roll out will see the course offered to more than 150 iProspect employees from 28 countries, with it eventually becoming available to all 2,600 staff from iProspect’s 74 offices worldwide.

Verisign, acquired by Symantec in 2010 and known for its Internet security technology, said Wednesday that the Internet grew to 294 million domain names in the first quarter of 2015. About six million domain names were added to the Internet between January and March of this year.
