Public relations firm Weber Shandwick, in an effort to elevate and expand its digital strategy, content production and media innovation capabilities, has named Chris Perry chief digital officer. Already, the firm includes more than 600 digital, creative, social media, content and analytics specialists. In addition to the Perry hire, the firm announced the appointment of Ian Cohen to global executive producer and president, Content Creation and Innovation; Adam Wall to executive vice president, digital operations and client services, North America; and Cheryl Cook to senior channel strategist, North America, to further bolster its global digital leadership ranks. …

Ogilvy & Mather Global CEO Miles Young will retire in the second half of 2016 from his role at the agency after 32 years. He will become the Warden (aka chief academic administrator) of New College at Oxford University. He plans to begin that role in September of 2016. Young, 61, has been global CEO of Ogilvy & Mather since 2009. Prior to that, he ran the agency's Asia-Pacific business. In addition, he added the role of chairman in 2012. Job search site CareerCast just completed its CareerCast Best Jobs For Millennials Survey and found agency account executive to be one of the top spots for millennials. The study finds the average (median) salary for that position to be $115,750 -- which, if you ask me, seems really high. The same survey, however, pinpoints the starting salary for AE to be near $37,000.
