• Microsoft' New CEO Sends Intro Email to Employees
    Microsoft announced a new CEO today. Satya Nadella is the company's third chief executive following Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates. Nadella sent out an email today explaining his background along with his vision for the technology company. "Our industry does not respect tradition - it only respects innovation. This is a critical time for the industry and for Microsoft," he wrote. "Make no mistake, we are headed for greater places - as technology evolves and we evolve with and ahead of it. Our job is to ensure that Microsoft thrives in a mobile and cloud-first world."
  • 58% of Email Marketers Will Increase Spend This Year
    More money is going into email marketing this year. According to a new report from ExactTarget, 58 percent of marketers plan to increase email marketing spending this year. According to the report, 68 percent of marketers surveyed reported that email marketing is "core to their business" and 88 percent said that email does or will produce a positive return on investment.
  • Chris Christie's Latest Email in Bridge Scandal
    New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's office has sent an email to supporters defending himself in the recent bridge traffic scandal. The email comes in response to claims from David Wildstein's lawyer that "evidence exists" that Christie knew about the bridge closures. David Wildstein, a Christie supporter, resigned from his post at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after the closures. "Bottom line - David Wildstein will do and say anything to save David Wildstein," reads the email.
  • German Parliament Hacked Exposing 16M Online Passwords
    German parliament members were the targets of a major data theft which left 16 million online identities exposed. The German Federal Office for Online Security (BSI) revealed news of the breach but failed to go into detail. The German magazine Der Spiegel reported that the attack was carried out by eastern European criminals.
  • NSA Graduate Co-Founds Email Security Firm
    Will Ackerly, a former National Security Agency employee, has teamed up with his brother John to launch a new email security firm called Virtru. The company aims to solve issues surrounding email encryption software and make it more user friendly. Virtru works within Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo without requiring an external client, which differentiates it from other services in the market.
