    A recent study from Adestra found that teenagers prefer to hear from brands via email. However, marketers must be careful. The research also revealed that 60 percent of teens receive too many promotional emails. And 32 percent of these teens would tell marketers directly that they receive too many emails. In addition, 73 percent of these teens use their mobile phones for inbox triage.

    Starbucks has formed a partnership with Microsoft Outlook, and will soon be showing up within email inboxes. The company revealed a new Outlook add-in at Microsoft's Build developer conference this week. The new tool will allow Outlook users to schedule meetings at nearby Starbucks locations, as well as to buy and send Starbucks gift cards from within the email program.

    Google is joking around with Gmail this April Fool's Day. The tech giant has released its so called, "Mic Drop" tool for Gmail. The tool is supposedly designed to end email conversations with annoying GIFs. "Today, Gmail is making it easier to have the last word on any email with Mic Drop. Simply reply to any email using the new 'Send + Mic Drop' button. Everyone will get your message, but that's the last you'll ever hear about it. Yes, even if folks try to respond, you won't see it," the company wrote on its blog.
