After doing so, the company saw a 50 percent lift in its attributed conversion rate for email.

Vodafone customers in New Zealand are having issues accessing their email accounts. The outage has been going on for three days now. "We are working really hard to resolve the problem affecting some Vodafone hosted email accounts," the company said in a statement. The company attributed the issues to a bottleneck in the delivery system.

Many Virgin Media Ntlworld.com customers are unable to access their email accounts. The problem first started last week after the system migrated from Google's Gmail service. After the migration, users ended up with massive amounts of spam in their inboxes. Virgin Media added spam filters but those filters became too tight and users weren't getting their emails at all. Now some senders are getting bounce backs when trying to email these addresses.

Motorola has released a new stock email app for Android users. This app has likely been designed for Motorola's new Droid Maxx device which is expected to come out this fall. The app is similar to the Gmail app but also includes an automatic device signature.

Marketing automation firm Selligent and email marketing firm StrongView have merged. The new company will operate under the Selligent brand name. Selligent is based in Brussels and has a large client base in Europe and StrongView is based in Redwood City-based and has a number of American enterprise clients. The two platforms will be merged to expand services.

VMware has acquired the email and task management startup Boxer in a deal whose terms were undisclosed. The company revealed its purchase at the company's annual european VMworld event. The goal of the acquisition is to help VMware provide apps that are integrated with its data management platform.

The Arlington Independent School District is giving students their own email addresses. The school system will get Google Apps for Education to provide these addresses. The system allows school officials to set safety restrictions for elementary and junior high school students and filter out bad language.
