    A recent update to Microsoft's Outlook.com cloud service has left a number of users in the dust. A number of users have complained about not being able to access their accounts even if their accounts are hosted on third-party servers such as their company's private server or an ISP's mail server. Microsoft has not commented on the issue, which arose after the company updated its cloud service.

    Almost 85 percent of retailers and brands will have second-party data integrated into their marketing strategy within the next year, according to a new report from Forrester and OwnerIQ. Ninety-six percent of retailers that already have this integrated data consider it "valuable" or "very valuable" to their overall marketing strategy.

    Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin does not have an email address. He has served four decades in public service, currently running the state department that oversees the state's public records law. He conducts all of his business using the phone or in person meetings.

The survey also revealed that email is expected to remain the preferred communication method for the next five years.

    Penguin Random House has teamed up with Crown Publishing to debut an email newsletter filled with stories. The project is called Season of Stories and is an 11-week email newsletter with serialized excerpts from works of short fiction. The first newsletter hits inboxes on October 11.
