The healthcare industry has the worst email security across industries, according to Agari. The company released its "State of Email Trust 2014" report revealing that email security is not a part of the healthcare industry's modus operandi and therefore they don't have strong systems in place to prevent fraud. The recent Anthem breach is a testament to this Agari research, which analyzed 6.5 billion emails sent in 2014. The study reported that an email from a healthcare provider is 4x as likely be spam than an email from a social network.

Composed is a new tool that is designed to address scammers in the email micropayment arena. The tool gives users an email address with a getcomposed.com domain name and allows users to send money. The sender then has to reply to an auto responder to issue a payment. The system supports payments using bit coin, money transfer or PayPal.

When Google came out with its Inbox management app late last year, the tool was only available for the iPhone, Android and web browsers. Now the email management app is available on the iPad. The Inbox version 1.2 for iOS release also includes "bug fixes and performance improvements."

When a shopper solicits a quote from the site, they get a follow up email. If they don't show intent, then they get another email 2 days later. If that email doesn't lead to a conversion, then the prospect gets an educational email about the product with product comparisons to competitors.

The company had previously said that it would mail customers this information, but due to certain state laws, the company is also sending emails.

Carnegie Mellon has made a big mistake due too an email sending mishap. The university accidentally emailed acceptance letters to all applicants to the university, not just the ones who were accepted. The institution is not alone and joins other major universities who have made similar mistakes.

The majority of representatives in the House of Representatives are supporting a proposed law that would require law enforcement to obtain a warrant to read emails more than 180 days old. Two hundred and forty representatives support The Email Privacy Act 2015. A similar bill failed in 2013, but was stalled. This bill is expected to pass.

Internet services provider j2 Globalhas acquired the assets of email security firm Nuvotera, formerly known as Spam Soap), in a deal whose terms were not disclosed. J2's Excel Micro business unit will absorb the company's former assists in a move to beef up its email security offerings. The unit also recently acquired TestudoData.
