The company helps small businesses manage their CRM programs and create social and email marketing campaigns. Main Street Hub counts 6000 subscribers who are pay about $350 a month for the service.

New York City's City Hall has warned citizens about a phishing scam claiming to come from the city's Department of Finance. The email claims that the recipient must pay a parking ticket and links to a site designed to collect personal data. Recipients are urged not to click on the email or download any attachments.

While the common thinking among marketers is that consumer inboxes are overwhelmed during the holidays, this isn't actually true. marketers should be afraid to send during this time frame. In fact, according to a new report from email marketing firm Return Path, consumers receive less than 10 emails per day on average from October through mid-November. And on peak days including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consumers only get an average of 12 emails a day.

American Airlines has found that consumers don't always book their flights on their first visit. So the airline sends abandoned cart emails to anyone that has left the site without booking a flight that has been saved. Emails go out 24 hours after a flight was saved in the customer's cart. The email shows the lowest and most flexible flight based on the flier's cart. These emails have a 300 percent higher pen rate than standard emails and a 200 percent higher click through rate.

Australian communications firms are challenging a new government's plan requiring telecoms to retain user data since services based in other countries such as Gmail, Hotmail, Facebook and Skype are exempt. The Australian telecoms say that without a wider scope, the plan would be ineffective at fighting crime.

Groupon saw revenues reach $925.4 million in Q4 2014, up 20.4 percent from the comparable quarter in 2013. While email used to lead the company's business model, in recent years, the company has been pushing its Groupon Goods service, an online marketplace for buying goods in recently years. This division of the company brought in $581m in revenues during the quarter.

The Canadian federal government's plans to integrate 63 different email platforms into one system has been delayed. The effort, which requires the migration of hundreds of thousands of email addresses across 43 departments, won't be done until 2016. The organization was working against a March 31, 2015 deadline but has pushed it back to next year after the two companies in charge of the effort - Bell Canada and CGI Information Systems - experienced delays.

The Akron-Canton Airport has launched an email marketing alert system to help customers find deals on flights out of its location. The email is called "CAK FareAware" and will source data from multiple airlines including: Southwest, Delta, United and American/US Airways. The first of these new emails went out today.
