Readdle has released a new update for the Spark email app. The new feature allows users to hit snooze on emails. In addition, the update brings about a new image attachment button. The release comes on the heels of news that Dropbox is shutting down its popular Mailbox app which also had a snooze function.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are the best day to send emails, according to new research from HubSpot. The firm found that emails sent on Tuesdays see an 18 percent higher than average open rate and those sent on Thursday see open rates up 15 percent above average. Email opens drop over the weekend. Saturdays see 107 percent below average open rate and Sundays count an 82 percent below average open rate.

However, the program has been delayed since many of the participating tax offices have failed to send in their data required for set up. Once it gets off the ground, the system aims to make communications between officials and citizens more efficient.

Sixty-four percent of consumers are unlikely to shop or do business again with a company that has experienced a breach where financial information was stolen, according to a new study from Gemalto. The researchers interviewed 5,750 consumers around the globe and 49 percent said that they would stop doing business with a company that had had personal information stolen.

Yahoo's Mail app now supports Gmail accounts. The service allows users to access their entire Gmail account, including archives and attachments using the Yahoo app. When Yahoo first launched the ability to access third party email from their app a couple of months back, Hotmail, Outlook and AOL accounts were supported.

A Northern California District Attorney has issued a warning to local lawyers about a spam email in circulation. The Shasta County District Attorney's Office said that the emails are arriving in the inboxes of attorneys claiming to come from a foreign corporation that needs help with a breach of contract lawsuit or with debt collections. The fake company then sends a digital contract to the law firm, followed by a check in the mail for payment. The attorney is advised to keep the legal fee and then transfer the remaining balance to a foreign bank.

Google has updated its Google Wallet app and the new version allows users to send money to people from their contact list without an email address. Instead, Google users will simply need the phone number of the person that they would like to pay in order to transfer the money. At this point, the feature only works for people in the U.S.

Google has added a data loss prevention service to its Gmail for work project. Essentially, companies that use the service can now use the Data Loss Prevention for Gmail tool with Google for Work, a mechanism for limiting the distribution of sensitive content. The tool identifies email content that violates corporate policy and allows a user to quarantine a message for review or direct the sender to modify the message if the data is too sensitive.
