MeasureCast, Inc. reported that the total time spent listening to their measured Internet radio stations rose two percent during the week of June 10 -16. ESPN Radio finished the week as the top-ranked Internet-only station based on the total number of hours streamed. The Walt Disney Webcaster streamed 128,704 hours of sports talk to 35,074 people.
David Peeler, president and CEO of CMR, reported "We are off to a good start this year, which suggests a rebound over last year... we can expect three factors to boost the market this year: the impact of the upfront on the broadcast season, the upcoming elections in November and the continued growth of Spanish Language television
Radio retained its position as a mainstay medium over the past year, reaching all demographics in all locations, both in and out of home, according to the latest total radio listening estimates compiled by RADAR, (Radio's All Dimension Audience Research) of Arbitron Inc. Network radio reached upper-income adults. Eighty-one percent of adults 18+ in households earning $75,000 or more are in the network radio audience each week.
