• The Media Kitchen - Windstream Communications
    The Media Kitchen has been awarded media strategy and planning duties for Windstream Communications, a company created through the spin-off of Alltel's landline business and merger with VALOR Communications Group. The agency will focus on media communications at the local market level. The Concept Farm oversees all creative duties. TV and radio buying will be handled by Horizon Media; Media Space Solutions will handle print buying; and outdoor buying will be handled by Wilkins Media.
  • Agency.com - Subway
    Citing a conflicting account, Agency.com has pulled out of Subway's interactive account review a month after the agency posted its 9-minute pitch on YouTube.com.
  • Safeway - DDB
    Safeway has awarded DDB its $250 million broadcast account. The agency bested Euro RSCG for the win. PHD will handle media planning and buying chores.
  • Eastman Kodak
    Eastman Kodak has placed its $500 million global media account in review.
  • M&C Saatchi New York - AIG Financial Products
    M&C Saatchi New York has been named agency of record for CT-based AIG Financial Products Corp, a subsidiary of American International Group. The agency will launch AIG-FP's first-ever global ad campaign set to run in Asia, Europe and the US. Round2 Communications will handle media duties. First efforts launch in September, under the tag line, "Less of the Same." The campaign consists of global print buy, along with online and outdoor components.
  • Safeway
    Goodby, Silverstein & Partners is the latest agency to exit Safeway's review of broadcast creative and media duties, estimated at $250 million. Euro RSCG and DDB remain in contention.
  • Wal-Mart - Saatchi & Saatchi X
    Wal-Mart has named Saatchi & Saatchi X as its agency of record for Shopper, In-store and Associate communications. The account win is separate from Wal-Mart's ongoing agency review.
  • Mullen - Panera Bread
    Panera Bread has named Mullen as agency of record on its estimated $3 million account. TBWA/Chiat/Day previously handled the account.
  • Sara Lee Food & Beverage
    Sara Lee Food & Beverage has selected TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles, as its ad agency of record for the Hillshire Farm brand, following a review. Element 79 previously handled the account. TBWA/Chiat/Day will become agency of record for several brands under Sara Lee Food & Beverage, including Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Sara Lee and Senseo. The agency will aid in strategic development and execution of U.S. advertising for Hillshire Farm brand products. It will also be responsible for TV, radio, print and outdoor advertising. Starcom handles the media buying. The account is estimated at $25 million.
  • BCF - Virginia Tourism Corporation
    BCF has been named agency of record for the Virginia Tourism Corporation, responsible for media planning, advertising, and sponsorship strategies on the $3 million account.
