After a three-month review involving eight agencies, SFGT, Philadelphia, has been named agency of record for the 2005 Philadelphia International Auto Show and Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala, produced by The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. Media will be handled in partnership with MayoSeitz Media, Blue Bell, Pa. An undisclosed budget will go to TV, radio, print, and out of home.
MapQuest has hired TBWA\Chiat\Day, Los Angeles, to create a branding campaign that will launch in the first half of 2005. TBWA\Chiat\Day will be the agency of record for the map-making Web site. Spending was not disclosed.
Chiquita Brands International has named Dallas-based Dieste Harmel & Partners as its agency of record for the U.S. Hispanic market. Dieste Harmel will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated marketing campaign to U.S. Hispanics. Spending was not disclosed.

Arby's has named Merkley + Partners as the company's national creative agency of record. The search was administered by Wanamaker Associates, an Atlanta-based advertising search firm. Doner, which handled the Arby's account since 1987, declined to participate in the creative review, but will continue to be the agency of record for the 30 co-ops they currently represent. The account is estimated at $15 million.
Lydall, Inc. has selected Donaldson Makoski Inc as its marketing and advertising agency. The firm will assist Lydall in developing its overall positioning, brand image, print and electronic advertising, and other marketing. Spending was not revealed.

Carrafiello Diehl & Associates picked up work for four consumer brands from Prestige Brands, Inc., the recently formed company resulting from the merger of Prestige Brands International, Medtech and The Spic and Span Company. The agency was awarded assignments for Comet, Chloraseptic, Clear Eyes and Murine. Carrafiello Diehl & Associates was already agency of record for both Medtech and The Spic and Span Company, and will continue to handle brands of those former companies, including Denorex, Cutex, Compound W, New Skin, Spic and Span and Cinch. Spending was not disclosed.
Life magazine has tapped Heavy as its agency of record to create the marketing and advertising for its re-launch as a weekly newspaper-distributed magazine. The campaign will include TV, print, national radio, outdoor, online ad buys and guerilla tactics. The creative will be introduced in September with print and outdoor ads. The campaign is valued at $12 million.
