Interpublic media agency UM has been named global media agency of record for battery maker Energizer Holdings, Inc. Energizer reported advertising costs of $96.7 million for its 2019 fiscal year.
Kansas City, MO-based Barkley has been named lead brand agency for Copper Mountain Resort, following a formal review. Copper Mountain a year-round resort in the Colorado Rockies has tasked Barkley with brand positioning and creative strategy duties. The account will be handled by Barkley’s Boulder office. "At a time when the travel and tourism industry has been deeply impacted, it is vital to take a holistic, whole brand approach to our work together, finding ways to infuse creativity and purpose into every guest interaction," stated Jason Parks, Chief Growth Officer for Barkley.
BMW car brand Mini has appointed Anomaly London, part MDC Partners, as its new lead agency. The award came after a competitive pitch. Previously the brand used a handful of agencies in different regions. Anomaly is developing a new integrated ad campaign that will debut in 2021.
GSK is consolidating more of its consumer healthcare business with Publicis Groupe. After a five-month pitch the Groupe will now manage the GSK Brazil portfolio under the bespoke PlatformGSK entity. This dedicated practice will be responsible for all communication of brands Advil, ENO, Corega, Sensodyne and Sonrisal brands and align with the Groupe’s other GSK accounts in Europe, United States and Latin America. The account was previously held by WPP’s Grey.
The Environmental Science unit of Bayer has appointed St. Louis-based agency HLK agency of record. The award came after a multi-agency pitch. The unit sought to consolidate agencies across its three lines of business which include, Vegetation Management, Turf and Ornamentals, and Pest Management and Public Health. Other agency clients include Bayer Crop Science, Marriott, Ameren, UniGroup, Schnucks, among others.
Liberty Bank is appointing Connelly Partners as the bank’s agency of record following a formal review. The scope includes creative, media, digital and strategy. This new agency relationship follows the arrival at the Connecticut-based financial institution of President/CEO David Glidden who joined the company from TD Bank last year.
Cholulua Hot Sauce is appointing Vice’s Virtue as the brand’s lead creative agency following a client-led formal review that happened prior to the pandemic. Virtue will spearhead the strategic and creative development of Cholula’s brand marketing efforts across the North America region. The partnership kicked off with a virtual Tacothon celebrating Cinco de Mayo in which celebrities including Dwayne Wade, Sophia Bush and chef Tom Colicchio will share their secret taco recipes.
