• Macy's - Latinvox
    Macy's has chosen Latinvox, New York to handle national advertising for the Hispanic market. Latinvox will focus on creating broadcast media campaigns for the Fall 2005 season. Spending was not released.
  • LaRosa's - Blattner Brunner
    After a four-month review, LaRosa's, Inc., Cincinnati, has named Blattner Brunner, Pittsburgh, as its agency of record. Other review finalists were: SBC Advertising, Westerville, Ohio; Meyer & Wallis, Indianapolis; and Gee, Jeffrey, Cincinnati. Northlich, Cincinnati, the incumbent of fourteen years, did not compete. A $4.5 million budget will go primarily to television, and also to outdoor and newspaper FSIs.
  • Mattel Brands - MediaVest
    Following an agency review that lasted several months, Mattel Brands moved its estimated $180 million media planning account to MediaVest, Los Angeles. Mattel will continue to use MindShare, New York, for kids' television buying and Mediaedge:cia, New York, for adult television buying.
  • Subway - Alloy Marketing and Promotions
    Subway restaurants has hired Alloy Marketing and Promotions to execute a promotional campaign targeting Teens. The program is scheduled to be released some time during Q3 2005. Spending was not revealed.
  • Piaggio USA - CooperKatz & Company
    Piaggio, the Italian manufacturer of Vespa, has picked CooperKatz & Company to execute an integrated campaign combining public relations, events and online efforts, including blogs. The company's campaign will also include test drive events for journalists. Spending was not released.
  • Green Mountain Coffee Roasters
    Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has placed its advertising account, estimated between $2 and $4 million, in review. Competing for the account are Amalgamated, BrandBuzz, Margeotes/Fertitta & Partners, and Mullen.
  • Lowe Cos. Incorporated
    Lowe's has placed its $300 million creative and media planning and buying account in review. McCann-Erickson presently handles the account.
  • Northwestern Mutual
    Northwestern Mutual has placed its $15 million advertising account in review. J. Walter Thompson currently handles the account.
  • Triumph Boats - The Republik
    After a three-month review, Triumph Boat has named The Republik, Durham, as its advertising agency of record. 2004 billings were $1.5 million, per TNS Media Intelligence. The Republik's initial assignment will be to develop a rebranding strategy, to break in early summer, encompassing elements from print advertising to boat graphics, catalogs and logos.

    SSD COMPANY Ltd. has named kirshenbaum bond + partners agency of record for its XaviX account, valued at $10 million. XaviX is a virtual reality experience for in-home use. kirshenbaum bond san francisco will develop an overall brand and advertising strategy, brand planning, media and web strategy and creative development. The upcoming campaign will include television, print and online for the launch of new offerings from the XaviX and Jackie Chan Studio of Fitness product lines.
